Capital IG office remains vacant

LAHORE: The Punjab government is reluctant to hand over the services of DIG Ali Nasir Rizvi to the federal government for appointment as the capital police IG.
Ali Nasir Rizvi is serving as DIG Operations Lahore. The post of IG Islamabad has been vacant for three days following the former IG Akbar Nasir left the charge. Senior DIGs of Islamabad Police have already applied for leave after the notification of a junior officer becoming IG. DIGs Malik Owais, Hasan Raza Khan and Shoaib Janbaz are senior to newly appointed IG Ali Nasir Rizvi. In this regard, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says that the matter will be resolved soon.
