Driver arrested for slapping woman

LAHORE: Police arrested a suspect who had slapped a woman over fare dispute in the Garden Town area. Reportedly, the victim had made a call at Police Helpline 15 and complained that a suspected driver had hurled abuses at her and slapped her after an exchange of words over fare.

Punjab Safe City Authority taking cognizance of the matter alerted the police and used its cameras to identify the suspect. A team was dispatched to the scene based on the woman's complaint. The suspect was traced through Safe City cameras and arrested. A case was registered against him.

Three kite flyers detained

Hayer police arrested three accused kite flyers from a farm house on Monday. The police rounded up accused Talha, Muzzamal and Saed and recovered 50 kites, chemical and twine rolls from their possession.

Through modern technology the police spotted the suspects, who were flying kites at the farm and arrested them. During the last 24 hours, at least 26 accused were arrested and 27 were booked under the Kite Flying Act across the province and 2,052 kites and 33 string rolls were recovered from the possession of the accused.

According the IGP statement, during the last 35 days, 3,496 cases were registered and 3,629 accused were arrested violating Anti-Kite Flying Act across the province. The IGP directed the supervisory officers to accelerate crackdown on metal strings and kites.

Two bike thieves held

Anti Vehicle Lifting Staff (AVLS) has arrested two members of a bike thieves gang. The arrested suspects were identified as Shahzad alias Shada Raju and Faisal Over two dozens of motorbikes recovered

The suspects would target bikes parked in streets, parks and plazas. They would open these using master keys and sell on cheaper rates in remote areas.
