‘Sports culture vital for healthy society’

LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that the establishment of a healthy society is closely linked with the promotion of sports culture; he expressed these views while talking to leading sports figures of the country at National Hockey Stadium.

Top sports stars such as former captain national kabaddi team Shafiq Chishti, Olympian Khawaja Junaid and Secretary Punjab Taekwondo Association Dr Izhar ul Haq called on provincial youth affairs minister and discussed the promotion of sports culture among the youth during their separate meetings. They also apprised the minister about different issues of their respective games.

Talking on this occasion, Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that all sports veterans, athletes and stakeholders should give their suggestions and opinions for the development of sports among the young generation. “The promotion of traditional games like kabaddi, desi kushti and revival of hockey is among the priorities of the Punjab government”.
