Counterfeit currency seized as suspect held

A Special Investigation Unit (SIU) team conducted an operation against a group involved in the use and sale of counterfeit currency in Karachi and apprehended one suspect involved in the crime.

According to a spokesperson for the SIU, the SIU team acted on confidential information and arrested a suspect, Muhammad Khan, son of Rasool Bukhsh, in Rizvia Society in the vicinity of Nazimabad. Counterfeit currency notes were seized from the suspect’s possession.

A case has been registered against the suspect over the seized counterfeit currency. The SIU spokesperson said the suspect had confessed to obtaining this counterfeit currency from a person named Khalil Khosa and using it at various locations in Karachi.

Raids are being conducted for the arrest of the suspect's accomplices. The relevant police stations in Karachi have also been informed about the arrest of the suspect. Further investigations are under way.
