NAB DG issues directives to resolve woes of fraud victims

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director General Lahore Amjad Majeed Aulakh Friday held a monthly open court and listened to the grievances of visitors.

Affectees of various housing societies and financial frauds attended the open court and the DG NAB listened to them and issued instant directives to resolve their woes. Affectees of financial (investment) scams of Lasani Chicks, Double Shah, and ISMMART scam were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the affectees of the Pak-Arab Housing scam, the DG NAB said following the clear directives of the NAB Chairman Lt-Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmed, its 2,300 affectees have already been given Rs1.67 billion. He said progress on other cases of the society was hindered by a court stay. About affectees of the Palm Vista Housing project, the DG said an official Inquiry has been initiated for 2018 claimants. He said the NAB Lahore is eager to take priority actions against Al-Haram Garden administration to promptly redress victims’ losses.

The DG also listened the affectees of the administrations of Khayaban-e-Amin, Al-Rehman Gardens, Al-Jalil Garden. In the case of Lasani Chicks, NAB Lahore has filed a Reference in the Accountability Court worth Rs4.1 billion. Similarly, immediate redressal orders were issued by the DG for the victims of the Double Shah case. The administration of Abu Zar Housing has obtained a court stay against NAB’s actions to sell the properties of the accused party. Action has been ordered on a citizen’s request in the Government Cooperative Housing Society case.
