IGP wants drug-free Punjab

LAHORE: The IGP wants to ensure a drug free atmosphere in the whole province. In a statement, the IGP said the police was striving to keep young generation safe from drugs.
The police spokesman said that 527 locations were raided to combat drug peddlers and 259 cases were registered against the accused and 261 were arrested and 140kg charas, one and a half kg ICE, 22kg opium and 3,974 litre alcohol were recovered from the possession.
The spokesman said during the last four weeks, 6,691 spots were raided and 3,421 cases were registered against the accused involved in drug trade and 3,804 accused were arrested and 2,807 kg Charas, 14 kg Ice, 55kg heroin, 149 kg opium and 3,8205 litre alcohol were recovered from the possession of the accused.
