Retired cop found dead with burns in Soldier Bazaar house
The death of a retired police constable has prompted law enforcement to launch a comprehensive investigation, including the possibility of suicide.
The body of the ex-cop with severe burn injuries was discovered at a residence within the jurisdiction of the Soldier Bazaar police station. Police and rescue teams swiftly responded, recovering the body and transporting it to Civil Hospital, Karachi, where the man was identified as that of 65-year-old Saleem Ansari, son of Mahfooz Ansari.
According to SHO Asad Ali, the deceased, who perished in a blaze, had served as a policeman before retiring. Living alone in his residence following separation from his wife, he was survived by two sons, one of whom followed in his footsteps and joined the police force. Additionally, Saleem operated a confectionery shop as part of his livelihood. Suspicions surrounding the incident point to the possibility of suicide, as the entrance to the house where the body was discovered was secured from the inside.
