Fake wing commander who made money through fraud, marriages held

The Korangi investigation police on Thursday arrested a fake wing commander involved in fraud of millions of rupees.

Officials said the arrest was made in Saadi Town during an investigation being conducted by Korangi’s Zaman Town investigation police. Investigations showed that the suspect, Zeeshan, used to pose as wing commander of a sensitive agency and had embezzled millions of rupees by marrying women from noble families. During the interrogation, he confessed to contracting three marriages.

The suspect has allegedly taken millions of rupees for business from his wives and also siphoned off large amounts money from citizens to get them government contracts. Moreover, forged documents for getting government contracts were seized from him during a raid. A search is underway for his accomplices.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Karachi arrested a suspect for buying drugs from Peshawar and selling them in Karachi. Police said that acting on a tip-off, SIU officials raided a place along Natha Khan Road near the Railway Gate, Shah Faisal Colony, and arrested the operative of an inter-provincial drug cartel gang.

The suspect has been identified as Riaz Khan, son of Mashhad Gul, and the SIU officials have seized two kilograms of hashish from him. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Drugs Act at the SIU police station.

In the initial interrogation, the accused revealed that he used to take drugs from a person named Ayaz from Peshawar and sell them to people in Karachi. He further said that he used to send the drug money to Ayaz through an online app.
