Encroachments are on the rise once again in Karachi. Footpaths across the city are occupied by small vendors. Spacious and clean neighbourhoods have now been turned into a den of encroachments, making it difficult for cars and other vehicles to travel on these congested roads. Encroachments in commercial areas disrupt businesses. Many hotels that pay hefty taxes to the national exchequer are getting affected by these settlements, their businesses are affected because of the subsequent traffic disruptions.
The police are also reluctant to take any action against such stall owners. The authorities concerned are requested to do something about this issue.
