The Radio Pakistan’s historical building located on MA Jinnah Road was vacated by the Anti-Terrorist Wing of the paramilitary Sindh Rangers in January this year.
When contacted, the Sindh Rangers spokesman confirmed this development and told The News on Tuesday that the paramilitary force had handed over the security of the Radio Pakistan to its administration in the initial days of the January this year.
However, a wing of the Sindh Rangers is performing its routine security duties in the same area.
During the around eight-year stay of the Rangers in the historical building, the Radio Pakistan Karachi had been operating from a building in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The relocation had resulted from a fire in the old building back in 2007.
