LAHORE:A 40-year-old shopkeeper was murdered by unidentified suspected robbers on resistance during a robbery in Sattokatla here on Monday.
The victim identified as Rizwan was present at his store at Ghazi Chowk when robbers barged into his shop and started looting valuables. When the victim offered resistance, the robbers shot him dead.

Police helpline 15 received a call from a citizen, Muhammad Zahid, that three suspects were busy looting on a road. A police team responded. As the cops confronted them, the suspects resorted to firing. In exchange of firing, two suspected robbers received bullet injuries and died on the spot. Their third accomplice fled the scene. The identity of the deceased suspects could not be ascertained.
Man dies as car overturns
A 35-year-old man died after his car overturned on a road in Nawab Town. The victim identified as Umar Zaman was going by his car when he lost control of the vehicle after its tyres burst. As a result, the vehicle hit a footpath. He received fatal injuries and died.
Six perish on roads
Around six people died whereas 1,145 sustained injuries in 1,050 road traffic accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 521 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 624 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
