The PTI’s attempts to complicate ongoing negotiations with the IMF are indicative of the party’s immaturity. Nearly every responsible citizen wants a new loan from the IMF in this difficult time. Economic stability is a top priority and the protests by the PTI threaten to jeopardize this goal. The IMF is a multilateral lender that has nothing to do with Pakistan’s internal affairs. Our global reputation is already less than stellar, to put it mildly, and such childish acts will only degrade it further.
