Greetings between Shehbaz, Modi augur well for future ties: Indian HC
ISLAMABAD: Nepal has spoken high of Pakistan’s role for training and close cooperation by its Army to Nepal Armed Forces.
The views were expressed by Nepal’s Ambassador Tepas Adhikari and its military attache Colonel Bhes Bahadur in reception hosted by them on Friday to commemorate 260th Nepali Army Day.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Inaam Haider Malik was the chief guest on the occasion. Th reception was attended by large number of the officer of Armed Forces from the host country. Ambassador Adhikari reminded that Nepali Army had the oldest Army in the region and it had rich traditions. Colonel Bhes Bahadur counted the services of Nepali Army for the peacekeeping and United Nation’s missions.
Indian Acting High Commissioner Geetika Srivastava was happy about the exchange of greetings between Prime Minister Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. She was hopeful that it would augur well for the future ties of the two countries.
To a query, she told the fellow guests that she wasn’t invited for the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Shahabz Sharif. “Had I received invitation, I would love to attend the ceremony,” she said.
