Absence of RHC staff protested
DIR: The residents on Friday staged protest against the absence of doctor and other staff at the Rural Health Centre (RHC), Sheringal, stoppage of repair work on the main Dir-Sheringal road and un-announced load-shedding in the area.
The protesters blocked the main Sheringal-Dir road for hours. District Councillor Inayat Said, tehsil councilor Shakirullah and leaders of the Sheringal Qaumi Ittehad were leading the protesters. The passengers and patients suffered due to the closure of the road for hours.
Addressing the protesters, Inayat Said, Shakirullah and others said that the RHC was closed for three days without any reason. “All staff members including doctor have been absent from duty since then. And patients from far-off areas of Sheringal were suffering due to closure of the hospital,” said Shakirullah.
They said that apart from closure of the hospital, repair work on main Sheringal-Dir road was stopped for years. The protesters dispersed peacefully after the officials of the local administration assured them to resolve the problems.
