Murder of PML-N former MPA Dr Nazir Dogar
LHC Multan Bench acquitted two accused

MULTAN: The Lahore High Court Multan Bench on Thursday set aside the judgment of the Vehari district and sessions judge and acquitted two convicts in the murder case of PML-N ex-MPA and district president Dr Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar
The convicts - Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Imran – had filed appeals against their conviction in the murder case. After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin and Justice Sardar Naeem Ahmad reversed the judgment and acquitted the convicts.
Earlier, Dr Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar was on his way from Punchayat when some unidentified people opened fire on his car on May 31, 2009. As a result, Mithu Dogar and his two companions Basharat Gujjar and Abdul Sattar Dogar were injured. The attackers had thrown Basharat Gujjar near Mana Morr Adda and took away critically wounded Dr Nazir and Abdul Sattar Dogar in their car. Later, Basharat informed Sadr police about the incident and police recovered the body of Mithu near Chak 445/EB graveyard. Gaggo Mandi police had registered a case against Abdul Sattar, M Imran and others.
