Family of late doctor given Rs4m cheque
LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram presented a Rs4 million cheque to the family of Dr Naseem Bano, a trainee doctor, who died in the line of duty at Lady Willingdon Hospital last year.
King Edward Medical University (KEMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mehmood Ayaz, Prof Dr Asghar Naqi, MS Lady Willingdon Hospital Dr Saeed Khan and others were also present on the occasion.
Later, the minister addressing the press conference said by the grace of Allah, we have been able to give Rs4 million to the family of late Dr Naseem Bano. He said for the first time in the history of the medical department of the country, financial assistance had been accorded to the family of a trainee doctor after her death. He also appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan in this regard.
