LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has referred to the IG Police Punjab the application seeking initiation of action against the CCPO Lahore for providing protocol and saluting to PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif on his return from London to Pakistan.

The court directed the IGP Punjab to take action as per law.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh heard the petition filed by citizen Kamran.

The petition stated that Nawaz Sharif was convicted and declared proclaimed offender but he was given protocol on October 21 last year while he was returning from London. It added that CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana saluted the convicted person contrary to police rules. The petitioner said that he had submitted the application to the concerned authorities for taking an action but it was not addressed. The petitioner requested the court to issue an order of taking action against the CCPO Lahore.
