Student among two commit suicide

LAHORE:Two persons, including a 15-year-old student committed suicide by hanging themselves in different parts of the City.

Amir Iqbal of Muslimabad committed suicide when his mother asked him to focus on studies. He was interested in using mobile phone. She admonished him. He was so frustrated that he locked himself in a room and hanged himself.

In another incident, a 24-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself in Sherakot. The victim was identified as Sarfaraz Shabbir. He committed suicide by hanging himself with a ceiling fan in his house.

Labourer falls to death

A 32-year-old labourer died during working at an under-construction building in Manawan. The victim identified as Ajmal Allah Rakha was busy working when he fell down and received injuries. He was shifted to a nearby hospital, but could not survive. His body has been moved to morgue for autopsy.

Three robbers arrested

Sundar police arrested three suspected robbers. A police team signalled three suspected motorcyclists to stop, but they sped off by resorting to firing. In exchange of fire, three suspects received bullet injuries and fell down. Police arrested the suspects and shifted them to a nearby hospital. Initial investigations suggested that the suspects were history-sheeters and have been involved in many cases of crimes.

Nine die in road accidents

Nine people died whereas 1,204 were injured in 1,144 accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 509 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 695 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
