MQM has to change its mindset, says Murad
ISLAMABAD: Former Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah has said that we have served the people during five years and stood with them in difficult times and that is why the people have given us success in the polls.
“We are grateful to the people of Sindh for making the PPP successful with huge votes as we have worked for the people for five years. Be it flood or corona we stood with the people in every difficult time. The PPP is going to form the government in Sindh,” he said while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
Shah said he has great respect for Pir Sahib Pagara but he was used by his brother and the GDA. “Pir Sahib, change your friends; they are not your sincere friends,” he said while responding to Monday’ s press conference of Pir Pagara.
He said the GDA was not able to find candidates against us as their candidates got only 15 to 20 percent of votes. “In Sanghar, their candidate tried rigging the poll and killed one person in the process, an FIR of murder has been registered against their party in Faridabad. An ASI and two other people sitting at a hotel in Larkana were shot and injured,” he said.
The ex-CM said that when the election was announced, they asked us for ten seats. “They did not have a right to ask for ten seats, as the PPP will take the decision that is in the interest of the country.”
In a reply to a question who be the chief minister of Sindh, Shah said the party leadership would decide the name of the next CM.
In a reply to another question, he expressed his surprise over the seats won by the MQM. In the local bodies elections a year ago that they (the MQM) were not ready to compete, but what happened in one year, he said, adding that those who did not even have polling agents won 15 seats.
He said the MQM had to change its mindset as we would not let the law and order of Karachi deteriorate. To another question, he said the PDM-2 is not going to be formed, but doors are not closed for political meetings. He said no one can form a government without the help of the PPP, which will take decisions keeping in mind the national interest.
