UET holds STEM events, exhibition
LAHORE:UET Lahore’s Science Society organised Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) competitions and All Pakistan Project Exhibition 2024 here on Tuesday.
The students from all departments of UET Lahore and its sub-campuses including UET New Campus KSK, Rachna College of Engineering & Technology (RCET) Gujranwala, Faisalabad (UET FSD) Campus and Narowal (UET NWL) campus participated in this competition.
UET Lahore VC Prof Dr Nasir Hayyat along with Society Advisor Prof Dr Shahid Rafique inaugurated the exhibition and visited 71 stalls where students from more than twenty universities of Pakistan showcased their final year projects.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC said, “STEM competitions create opportunities for students to think critically and work autonomously in some instances, to work together in teams to strengthen social skills.” The event concluded with the distribution of cash prizes to the winners.
Alumni’s role in varsity's ranking sought Punjab University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said that PU alumni can play an active role in improving the university's ranking and future of the university students. He was addressing a meeting organised by Punjab University Alumni Office (PUAO) for focal persons of departments in the seminar hall of Centre for South Asian Studies here Tuesday.
In his address, Prof Dr Khalid Mehmood said that Punjab University had produced many eminent personalities who were serving at the national and international level.
He said that all the departments of Punjab University should work together for the bettermentof the alumni and incumbent students. He said that the cooperation of alumni was
necessary for the positive image, strength and industry requirements of Punjab University.
