PTI says Form 45 not being given to candidates
Abbasi alleged the workers and polling agents were being tortured by the police
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Thursday vehemently rebuffed what he called the misleading reports and rumours of boycotting the election and said the party would not boycott the polls in any circumstances and the cruel system would be defeated with constitutional and powerful weapon of vote.
He urged the people not to believe in rumours, as the PTI candidates were competing in the electoral field vigorously despite all odds. He made it clear that the PTI believed in people’s right to vote and the supremacy of democracy and would not boycott the elections come what may.
The spokesperson said the voting process was going on in full swing across the country and the presence of people at the PTI’s polling camps in large numbers was a clear proof of public’s commitment to the PTI. He called upon the people to come out in large numbers to defeat the fascist system with their power of vote. He said the PTI candidates were leading the electoral race despite all oppression and abuse, vowing that eventually the truth would stand triumphant.
Meanwhile, PTI Chief Election Observer Brigadier (retd) Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi complained that Form 45 was not being provided to candidates even after four hours of completion of the polling process across the country. He demanded immediate provision of Form 45 to the PTI-backed candidates’ polling agents. He pointed out that Form 45 had not yet been provided to the PTI candidates in NA-6, 10, 41, 43, 44, 71, 150, 151, 209, 242 and many other constituencies.
Abbasi alleged the workers and polling agents were being tortured by the police, and attempts were now being made to change the results in view of the clear victory of PTI candidates. “Not providing Form 45 for several hours after the polling process is a systematic and shameful attempt of rigging and violation of election rules and regulations,” he noted and urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the incidents and ensure immediate supply of Form 45 to the candidates and action should be taken against the staff involved in irregularities. He said the nation would not accept robbery of its right to vote through changes in the results of the elections.
