Iran envoy felicitates Pakistan on ‘successful, safe, secure’ polls

ISLAMABAD: Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Raza Amiri Moghadam has felicitated the people and government of his host country on the successful conclusion of general elections.
He took the X (former Twitter) to express his sentiments. He is the first foreign envoy who conveyed his happiness about the polls. “At the end of the day, I extend my warmest congratulations to honorable nation and government of Pakistan on holding successful, safe and secure nationwide Elections-2024. It marks another achievement in the history of the neighbourly, friendly & brotherly country of Pakistan.”
Meanwhile, sources in the Foreign Office told The News that ambassadors/high commissioners of foreign countries posted in Islamabad would be briefed on the February-2024 general elections, once the results are compiled and elected members are notified.
The diplomats are reporting to their respective governments developments and outcome of the polls in Pakistan.
