PESHAWAR: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President Riaz Khattak said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was ideal for tourism, and agriculture was its mainstay, but the economic growth was still not visible.

He was leading a delegation of FPCCI at the Chief Minister House Peshawar, where they called on the PTI Chairman Imran Khan and KP CM Pervez Kahttak, a statement said on Tuesday.

He said since the formation of the PTI government, the province saw different reforms, but the business side did not witness a massive growth.

Economically, the province relied on agriculture, but lack of infrastructure, storage facilities, dedicated agriculture extension systems, and basic facilities for fruits and vegetables growers were unavailable, which needed to be addressed on priority, he said.

On industrialisation, the FPCCI VP said, “We welcome the new industrial policy by the provincial government; FPCCI demands the KP government to provide the same concessions to the existing players which are allowed in the recent policy for new entrants.”
