KP marks Kashmir Solidarity Day

PESHAWAR: Various functions and events were held across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day to renew the pledge to support the just cause of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.

In the provincial capital, the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League took out a pro-Kashmir rally.

A good number of members of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League participated in the rally. The participants held placards inscribed with slogans against occupation forces and called for urgent need to liberate Kashmir.

They gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club. Speaking on the occasion, the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League leaders made speeches highlighting the struggle of Kashmiris people to achieve their right to self-determination.

They said the Kashmiris themselves initiated their freedom movement by confronting the Indian forces. This endeavor has resulted in the sacrifice of a large number of lives, with thousands of Kashmiri youth currently imprisoned.

The speakers emphasized that the resolution of the Kashmir issue remained an unfinished agenda for Pakistan. Under no circumstances, they stated, Pakistan would retract its support for Kashmir.

The New Pakistan Zindabad Movement workers also gathered outside the Press Club to renew support to the Kashmir cause.

The were in a rally that passed through the Sher Shah Suri Road. The participants were carrying banners declaring unwavering support for Kashmir.

They said that Pakistan had unwavering commitment to Kashmiris and people stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Kashmiris in their quest for justice and freedom.

The speakers expressed solidarity with Kashmiris and urged the United Nations and other leading powers to intervene and help them get their right to plebiscite.

The officials of the Rescue 1122 and the Pakistan Railways also staged separate rallies and functions to express solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir.

They said that the Indian forces were subjecting Kashmiris to violence, but they would not succeed in changing the hearts and minds of the brave Kashmiris who had been suffering the tyrannies for the last over 70 years.

They said the time was not far away when the indomitable struggle of the Kashmiris would translate into liberation of Kashmir.

The Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, organized a function to commemorate the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

KMU Registrar KMU Inamullah Khan Wazir, Director Academic and Admission Dr Zilli Huma, Chief Proctor Associate Professor Dr Bahadur, faculty members and students attended the function.

Reflecting on the struggle of Kashmiris spanning 76 years, Registrar Inamullah Khan Wazir appreciated the role of students in raising the voice of the oppressed.

Similarly, the Peshawar Literary Society arranged an event to show solidarity with Kashmiri people and reiterated the government’s stance to continue extending moral and political support to the oppressed Kashmiri population.

The schoolchildren observed Kashmir solidarity through different activities and asked rights organizations to stop excesses in India-occupied Kashmir.

Teachers, parents and students attended the function.

In Charsadda, various functions were held to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

Deputy Commissioner Adnan Afridi and other officials attended an event held at the TMA Hall in Charsadda city.

School children also participated in the event and presented national songs and delivered speeches to pay tributes to the people of Kashmir. A group of children performed skits showcasing the plight of Kashmiris.

A walk was also held from the TMA office to the Charsadda Press Club. The participants carried banners and placards in support of the Kashmiris.

MANSEHRA: The people in Muzaffarabad formed a human chain at the Kohala Bridge to

express solidarity with the Kashmiris fighting against the Indian occupation.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker Minister for Irrigation Ahmad Jan Khan, Gilgit-Baltistan Senior Minister for Rural Development Abdul Hameed, officials of the district administration and schoolchildren participated in the event.

The speakers said that Indian occupation forces were committing atrocities against Kashmiri people but they will not be able to subdue them through the use of force.

HARIPUR: The district administration, educational institutions and Jamaat-e-Islami held various functions to observe the Kashmir solidarity Day.

The district administration organized a rally in Haripur city.

Deputy Commissioner Khan Muhammad led the rally. The officials of local government, Ulema, district administration and teachers attended it.

The Jamaat-e-Islami also took out a car and motorcycle rally.

The JI workers carried banners and placards inscribed with slogans against India.

The speakers said that the Kashmiri people would never give in in the face of oppression and would get their right to self-determination one day.

In Bajaur, a rally was taken out from the office of the deputy commissioner to the Civil Colony Chowk in Khar town to express support with the people of Kashmir in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day. Government officials and the local people participated in the rally.

Speakers stressed that the Kashmir issue should be resolved according to resolutions of the United Nations and said that the Kashmir issue was a bone of contention between India and Pakistan since independence.

Similar functions and rallies were also held in other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
