SUKKUR: Six people were killed and 18 others injured in a road accident in Shikarpur as the van fell down in a ditch after ramming in to a tree.
A van heading to Thulh from Jacobabad met an accident when its axil was broken during a diversion at Mian Sahab in district Shikarpur.
Police and rescue team reached the spot and they tried to pull out the people from the damaged vehicle.
The rescuers shifted the victims to a hospital through donkey carts and rickshaws in the absence of ambulances
Sajjad Ali s/o Sardar Serki, Akhwan Ali s/o Umar Lashari, Hafiz Ghulam Nabi Mastoi and Tarriq s/o Abdul Nabi, Ali Burriro, driver Nihal Jakhrani and Ali Nawaz Arbani were pronounced dead at the hospital.
Abdul Nabi, Shamusuddin, Ali Joyo, Amir Ali, Muhammad Amin, Saba, Ghous Bux and others are among the injured.
