Rural uplift
By News Desk

This refers to the letter ‘Who will bell the cat?’(January 26, 2024) by Arif Majeed. Over the years, the leadership has completely ignored even those reforms that did not warrant bold steps. Streets in rural areas and towns are filled with overflowing sewage and garbage. Pedestrians can hardly walk without stumbling in these streets.
Such places are generally inhibited by the middle and lower-middle classes, who do not seem to matter for retaining a hold on power. As yet, as far as I can tell, none of the political parties have emphasised the uplift of the rural population in their campaigns.
