Seven injured in cylinder blast near Shahdara

LAHORE : Seven people were injured as a result of a cylinder blast in a house near Shahdara Tomb of Jahangir on Wednesday

According to rescue sources, Rana Rafaqat had rented out the third floor of his house. Preliminary investigations revealed that the explosion occurred due to gas cylinder leakage. A 27-year-old Iqra, 1-year-old Ali Abbas, 12-year-old Iman, 30-year-old Khalid, Umar were among the injured, whose condition was out of danger.

Minor recovered; two kidnappers held

The Organised Crime Kidnapping for Ransom Cell recovered a 4-month-old child from Hair police area and arrested two suspects, including a woman.

The accused identified as Imran and Shamila Bibi had kidnapped the child named Allah Ditta a few weeks ago.

790 drug pushers arrested this month

Lahore police registered 769 cases and arrested 790 drug pushers during the current month. Around 192 drug pushers were arrested by City Division, 153 by Cantt, 72 by Civil Lines, 129 by Sadar, 118 by Iqbal Town and 126 drug pushers were apprehended by Model Town Division. Drugs and alcohol were also recovered from their possession.

Two found dead

Two persons were found dead in different parts of the City on Wednesday.

A 65-year-old man was found dead near Mominpura graveyard, Qila Gujar Singh. The man, yet to be identified, might have died of cold weather. A 50-year-old man was recovered dead Bassin village, Batapur. Police claimed that the victim was an addict who might have died of cold weather. Bodies were shifted to the mortuary by Edhi ambulance.
