Young religious scholar in polls race as independent

LANDIKOTAL: Young religious scholar Allama Muhammad Adnan Qadri has gained popularity in the PK-69 constituency in Landikotal since launching his first-ever election campaign last week as an independent candidate.

The son of former senator Hafiz Abdul Malik Qadri and nephew of former federal minister Dr Noorul Haq Qadri, Adnan Qadri has initiated his campaign in various villages in Landikotal.More than 20 welcoming programmes and corner meetings have been arranged for Adnan Qadri in the past days. Adnan Qadri has engaged with people in Landikotal, Mulagori, and Shalman area, with his first mass gathering attended by thousands of people in Jamrud.

Residents express admiration for his services as a religious figure and his family’s services in politics. A resident, Shamsul Amin, stated that not only the youth but also elderly men and women respect Adnan Qadri and his family, pledging support for the upcoming election.

Speaking to this correspondent, Adnan Qadri said that former parliamentarians often neglected public grievances and called for continuous engagement with the public on various issues.He mentioned establishing 230 madrassas across the country, where students study both contemporary science and religious studies.

Adnan Qadri said that his mission went beyond being elected and it was about serving his constituency residents through his madrassas and mosques. He pledged not to make hollow promises but to focus on social and spiritual development and address issues without any personal greed. He urged voters to choose the best person who could genuinely serve the public, represent them on the assembly floor and advocate for the neglected sections of society.
