Dense fog, cold weather to persist
LAHORE:Cold and foggy weather continued to prevail in the City here on Sunday while Met office warned that dense fog was likely to continue over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during next two days.
Met officials advised the citizens to be cautious as day temperatures were likely to remain below normal in most parts of Punjab due to dense fog. They said that continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country.
The predicted that mainly cold and dry weather was expected in most plain areas of the country while very cold and partly cloudy in northern parts.
They predicted that dense fog/smog was likely to persist in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh while frost was likely to occur at few places in Kashmir and Pothohar region during morning. Sunday’s minimum temperature was recorded at Gupis where mercury dropped to -06°C while in Lahore it was 4.2°C and maximum was 13.2°C.
