BKMC Swabi becomes first licensed MTI
PESHAWAR: Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI, Swabi, has become the first hospital in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that achieved the status of the first licensed medical teaching institute (MTI) by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission.
“The Bacha Khan Medical Complex-Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) Swabi has achieved the distinction of being the first Medical Institution to receive a license from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission (KP-HCC) after Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (specific for cardiac diseases only).
This remarkable accomplishment comes after a thorough assessment on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) set by KP-HCC, highlighting the institution’s commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services to the community,” the KP-HCC stated in an official document dispatched to the BKMC Swabi.
The KP-HCC, being the regulatory body overseeing healthcare facilities in the province, said it had conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI in Swabi.
“The assessment covered various aspects, including infrastructure, Quality Assurance, patient care protocols, and adherence to ethical standards. The successful outcome of this evaluation reflects the institution’s dedication to meeting and exceeding the minimum service delivery standards set by the healthcare commission,” the KP-HCC explained.
BKMC is the youngest MTI, out of nine total MTIs in KP.Dr Amjad Mahboob, associate professor of medicine / infectious diseases, and Hospital Director of Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI, expressed his gratitude and excitement about the achievement of the hospital.
The hospital administration said that licensing of Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI marked a pivotal moment in the healthcare landscape of the region.The KP-HCC officials also commended the efforts of Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI in maintaining and improving healthcare standards.
The commission emphasized the importance of such milestones in ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services to the residents of Swabi and the surrounding areas.
