ISLAMABAD/SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari summoned a meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) at Bilawal House Lahore on Wednesday (January 3).
In the PPP’s CEC meeting, important decisions will be taken regarding the country’s political situation and general elections.
The electoral campaign and election manifesto of the PPP regarding the general elections will be discussed and to give its approval will be given in the meeting of the CEC.
According to sources, during the meeting, the consultation regarding seat-to-seat adjustments with like-minded political parties for the February 8 elections, election coalition and contacts will also on the agenda of the CEC.
Sources said the reports with regard to political contacts with other political parties in Punjab would also be discussed in the meeting.
Source said that former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani will give a briefing on contacts made with the electable in Punjab and also south Punjab with reference to Jhang.
Sources claimed that the PPP leader in Punjab had made contacts with Ghulam Bibi Bharwana and Ms Saima Akhtar Bharwana, Iftikhar Baloch, Alisha Iftikhar, Sahibzada Nazir Sultan and Sughra Imam in Jhang and the CEC will be briefed on discussions with these leaders.
Sources indicated that a decision will be taken about who will visit Jhang after consultation in the meeting of the CEC.
