KARACHI: An anticorruption case has been registered against SP Sarwar Abro of Sindh Police, accusing him of ‘interfering’ in the official work of the Chairman Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment (E&ACE) and ‘threatening’ him over transferring him to Karachi from Larkana.
The reported altercation took place when SP Sarwar Abro, posted as Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Establishment at Larkana Zone on deputation was transferred to the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment’s head office in Karachi on December 5, 2023.
According to the FIR filed by Dileep Kumar, Personal Staff Officer of Chairman Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment (E&ACE) Syed Zulfiqar Shah, on December 6, 2023, SP Abro reportedly misbehaved, threatened the chairman and demanded the withdrawal of his transfer order.
The incident was witnessed by the Special Secretary of E&ACE and other office staff members, the FIR mentions.
Taking swift action, the Sindh government suspended SP Sarwar Abro and repatriated him to Sindh Police. Additionally, departmental proceedings were initiated against him. Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar also directed strict action against SP Abro for his alleged misconduct.
Following the caretaker Sindh CM’s directives an inquiry was initiated by the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment to investigate SP Sarwar Abro for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income
