IGP assures family of NED student killed by muggers of justice

Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Riffat Mukhtar Raja on Friday paid a visit to the grieving parents of Syed Murtaza Hussain, a student of the NED University who lost his life resisting a mugging attempt.

The IGP extended condolences and inquired about the well-being of Murtaza’s injured brother. Expressing deep sorrow, he assured the bereaved parents that the police were conducting thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators responsible for the incident to justice.

The meeting was attended by DIG East Ghulam Azfar Mahesar and SSP Investigation Saud Magsi, who provided updates on the ongoing investigation.

Mahesar highlighted the utilisation of eyewitness accounts, on-site evidence, and statements from the crime scene unit in the investigation. Advanced techniques and modern equipment were being employed to expedite the identification and apprehension of those involved, with legal actions to follow soon.

The IGP offered prayers for the departed soul of the student and wished for the speedy recovery of his injured brother. The father of the deceased student spoke highly of Hussain, describing him as a brilliant, intelligent, and deserving student who consistently secured top positions from school to university, ultimately earning a gold medal for his excellence throughout his educational journey. The community mourned the loss of such a promising young individual.
