Rs1100,000 released for cops’ treatment

LAHORE:Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Monday has released another Rs1100,000 for the health welfare of seven officials posted in various districts of the province.

According to the details, driver constable Azam Jahangir was given Rs556,000 for amputated knee treatment, Senior check of Lahore Police Manzoor Ahmed was given Rs100,000 for the treatment of brain hemorrhage, Rs100,000 were given to Constable Usama Rafaqat for the treatment of leg fracture. Rs100,000 was given to wife of deceased head constable of Multan M Naeem for treatment of kidney disease.

Constable Mazhar Hussain Shah, the driver of Jhang, was given Rs100,000 for the treatment of heart problem. Amin Masih, the sweeper of PHP Gujranwala, was given Rs100,000 for the treatment of his son. Special Branch Head Constable Nasir Abdullah was given Rs70,000 for the treatment of his ailing wife.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar visited Elite Training Centre Bedian Road to inspect pace of construction work of the hostels for the residence of under training officers and officials. DIG Elite Sadiq Ali Dogar and SSP Elite Nida Umar Chattha briefed the IG Punjab about the under construction projects. Later, IG Punjab also visited various police stations in provincial capital and inspected the construction works. He inspected Gulberg Police Station, Model Town Police station, and SDPO Office Model Town.

He directed that all the police stations of the provincial capital should be transferred to the Special Initiative Police Station protocol by Dec 31.

Meanwhile, a delegation of a private company called on IG Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar at the Central Police Office. The delegation led by Senior Vice President Syed Zaheer Mehdi included Asim Syed, Col Zia Shah, Yasir Ali and Maj Jawad Raza Khan. During the meeting, Punjab Police and Engro Corporation group agreed to sign an MoU to increase cooperation.
