LAHORE:The electricity supply was suspended for several hours at Fatima Jinnah Medical Block in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Sunday, which stopped medical machinery due to a power cut in the hospital.
The Sir Ganga Ram Hospital went dark due to a power outage, which affected the treatment services in medicine, nephrology, urology, neurology, pathology wards, while dialysis machinery was also stopped. The operation theatres were also rendered non-operational.
Due to power cut in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the patients were facing difficulties. ‘Even the power backup is not working in the hospital,’ the doctors and patients told the media. The hospital MS Dr Rana Sohail claimed that the power supply was stopped for ongoing renovation work, and in the meantime, the backup supply was provided in the hospital. He also claimed the power supply was restored within an hour. The power shut down was, however, restored after many hours.
