AIOU upgrades chemistry lab
Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has upgraded its chemistry laboratory with an Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy Machine to facilitate research and experiments for its students, says a press release.
AIOU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasir Mahmood, inaugurated the machine in the Chemistry lab. He also directed the chairperson and laboratory staff of the Chemistry Department to ensure the proper safety protocols for these machines in the laboratories.
Dr. Nasir stressed the importance of training laboratory staff to use the machine professionally in order to achieve the best results. Vice chancellor also urged the Dean, Faculty of Science to increase enrollment in science subjects. He stated that suggestions received from relevant departments will be taken into consideration to boost the enrollment of science subjects. Dean, Faculty of Science, Dr. Irshad Ahmad Arshad, highlighted that our laboratories are equipped with modern and up-to-date scientific instruments. He also mentioned that students from other educational institutions are permitted to use the facilities of these laboratories.
