Female university student reported killed later found alive in Toba Tek Singh
Islamabad: A female student of a campus of Agriculture University who was reported kidnapped and killed in Islamabad was found alive in Toba Tek Singh, following an inclusive investigation by the police, the police spokesman said.
The police said a fake case was registered in Islamabad on September 1st about the kidnapping and killing of the girl, a student of the Agriculture University Toba Tek Singh campus.
An investigation team headed by SSP (Investigation) at the Bani Gala Police Station in Islamabad, however, conducted a thorough inquiry and recovered the girl from Toba Tek Singh.
The investigation report established that the abduction and later killing case was nothing but a pack of lies triggered by a ‘personal grudge’. The girl student, identified as Tehmina was neither kidnapped nor killed as her location was found in Islamabad during the said date.
During the police investigation, Tehmina was found attending classes at the Agriculture University in Toba Tek Singh. Tehmina’s location was also confirmed at her ancestral village in Toba Tek Singh, the inquiry said.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Dr. Akbar Nasir ordered an inquiry on an application moved by the mother of the accused named in the fake case. The IGP also directed to withdraw the case from court and action against those responsible.
SSP (Investigation) Rukhsar Mehdi has forwarded the inquiry report to the IGP with the recommendation to initiate legal action against the complainant for lodging a false FIR regarding the kidnapping and killing of the girl student who was found alive.
The people engaged in the investigation said that the main suspect who lodged fake FIRs with the Banigala, Sunble and Industrial Area police stations, had proved fake and false, adding that legal action would be taken against the accused government officer involved in the offense under section 182 Cr. PC. The investigation report has been submitted to IGP for further legal action.
