Sports Sciences training course continues

LAHORE:The progression of highly informative lectures under Punjab Institute of Sports Sciences training course was continued on the fourth day at National Hockey Stadium on Thursday.

Master trainer M Atif Shafiq delivered a perceptive lecture on the topic of Periodisation of Training in which divisional coaches keenly participated. Punjab Institute of Sports Sciences Principal Chand Parveen, Chief Instructor Hafeez Bhatti and Instructors Shaista Qaiser and Sajid Ali were also present on this occasion.

Elaborating the term Periodisation of Training, Atif threw light on the working, importance and duration of micro-cycle training programme, meso-cycle, training, macro-cycle training and mega-cycle training programme. 

He also taught the divisional coaches about physical preparation, technical, tactical, mental, general and specific preparation of athletes ahead of a competitive sports event.

He also formed groups of the coaches and asked them to prepare a 3-month periodisation cycle training programme. After the given time, he reviewed the performance and asked several queries to assess the knowledge of the coaches about the given assignment.

Growth linked to youth expertise

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Chairman Brig (Retd) Muhammad Sajid Khokhar has emphasised the crucial role of blue-collar jobs in ensuring a secure and prosperous economic future for Pakistan.

He made these remarks during the award distribution ceremony of Tevta Techno Vision contest 2023, in which the Government College of Technologies from central Punjab participated. Tevta chairman said that in developed countries, blue-collar jobs were a priority for students, serving as a guarantee for their economic well-being.
