KARACHI: Engro Polymer and Chemicals Limited (EPCL), a subsidiary of Engro Corporation, said on Wednesday it has signed an interim agreement with Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) for the supply of gas till February 29, 2024.
The company, which manufactures chemicals and supplies surplus power to Engro Fertilizers Limited, said in a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the gas will be used by the company on an “as and when” available basis.
“This will ensure that the company’s operations continue unhindered,” it added. EPCL is a leading producer of Poly Vinyl Chloride, Vinyl Chloride Monomer, caustic soda and other related chemicals in Pakistan. The company operates two power plants with a combined capacity of 225 megawatts.
