Show cause notice issued to Daniyal Aziz for criticising Ahsan over inflation
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) has issued a show cause notice to its leader Daniyal Aziz for criticizing the party’s Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal over failure to control inflation.
In the notice issued on Saturday, a written explanation has been sought from him within seven days. Daniyal Aziz criticized Ahsan Iqbal, PMLN’s general secretary, for not controlling the prices of essential goods, stating, “Ahsan Iqbal was the Chairman of the Price Monitoring Committee and failed to control the record-breaking inflation and the PMLN government was a complete failure at the public level whereas the PMLN had a very good record of keeping inflation low.”
The show-cause notice said that the party’s constitution required that every member abide by the discipline of the party. “Your media statement dated November 30, 2023, is a violation of party discipline and contrary to facts,” it said, adding you (Daniyal) tried to damage the reputation of the party by making irresponsible statements.
The notice further said it was the duty of members that if he/she has any grievance, may contact the party leadership or the relevant forum. “You are required to abide by party discipline and refrain from making such statements,” said the notice.
