ISLAMABAD: The parking fee of two aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Jakarta has exceeded $15 million.
The PIA’s two leased Airbus 320 aircraft have been parked at the Jakarta Airport since September 2021.
According to an audit report, the airport parking fee is $0.6 million a month and the 26-month parking fee of the aircraft has reached $15.4 million.
According to the report, the aircraft have been parked at the Jakarta Airport due to a dispute with the leasing company.
The auditor termed the matter ‘management’s negligence’. In this regard, the spokesperson for the PIA said that the matter has been resolved with the leasing company and the aircraft will return to Pakistan soon.
