PhD degrees awarded

LAHORE:Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to 10 of its scholars. According to details, Asmat Zahra has been awarded PhD degree in the subject of Urdu, Iqra Khalil in the subject of Sociology, Shahbaz Muhammad in the subject of Applied Geology (Geophysics), Amir Ilyas in the subject of Communication Studies, Muhammad Tariq in the subject of Molecular Biology, Beenish Najam in the subject of Applied Psychology, Saima Saeed in the subject of Applied Psychology, Javaid Iqbal in the subject of Agriculture Sciences, Hania Arif in the subject of Geo-Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development and Saliha Afzal in the subject of Botany.

Shields, certificates distributed

In collaboration with Lahore Press Club and Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), a ceremony was organised at the press club here on Monday in honour of Lahore Press Club members who have completed their PhD from different universities.

PHEC Chairman Dr Shahid Munir, Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr Khalid Mehmood, Lahore Press Club President Azam Chaudhry and Secretary Abdul Majeed Sajid and students attended the ceremony.

Dr Shahid Munir distributed honorary shields and certificates to the PhD club members. These members included Dr Tanvir Qasim, Dr Qaiser Sharif, Dr Naveed Iqbal, Dr Khurram Shahzad, Dr Arshad Ali, Dr Shabir Sarwar, Dr Akmal Soomro, Dr Barira Bakhtawar, Dr Shah Nawaz, Dr Rao Shahid, Dr Zeeshan, Dr Arshad Bhatti, Dr Rabia Noor, Dr Mustafa Kamal, Dr Mian Javed, Dr Saeed and Dr Waqar Chaudhry.

Dr Shahid Munir while speaking on this occasion said that he was happy that the members of Lahore Press Club had a passion for higher education and research.
