Now that election fever is well and truly here, the news media discusses little else. The same old narratives are being repeated again and again by all the political parties. The major parties have been poor performers when in power. Thus, it is perhaps unsurprising that they have nothing new to add when making the case for their return to power. The corruption mantra has lost its charm and the main parties are now all sailing in the same boat.
