ANP to field candidate for NA, PA seats in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: The Awami National Party (ANP) on Friday announced to field its aspirants for two national and five provincial assembly constituencies of the district.
“Our party’s government had launched mega development projects in Hazara in the past and we are going to field our aspirants for the national and provincial assembly constituencies,” Mashal Khan, the chairman of ANP’s ticketing board in the district, told a meeting in Balakot.
The meeting was attended by the ANP’s workers and expected candidates for the provincial assembly constituency of Balakot.“Though we didn’t field our aspirants on most of the national and provincial assembly constituencies in the past, our party’s leadership has also been focusing on Hazara division this time around,” Mashal Khan added.
The ANP leader said that former chief minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti had given Torghar, Mansehra’s erstwhile tribal belt, the status of a settled district.“Haider Hoti not only changed the Torghar’s status to a settled district in 2011, but also approved Rs5 billion development projects for it,” Khan maintained.
He added that dozens of mega-development projects were executed by the ANP in health, education and other sectors in Mansehra and the rest of the Hazara division.
