LHC orders fixing Sheikh Rashid case for hearing
RAWALPINDI: Following the removal of objections to the petition filed by former interior minister Sheikh Rashid seeking awareness about the cases registered against him, Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has directed to fix it for hearing.
The LHC Rawalpindi bench was led by Justice Abdul Aziz. Hearing of petition will take place today (Tuesday). Sheikh Rashid while making IG Punjab, CPO Rawalpindi and others respondents had taken plea that his name is not included in the accused nominated in FIRs related to May 9 incidents.
He had expressed concern in the petition that the petitioner is being involved in statements unjustly and unfairly now after lapse of 7 months. The petitioner even does not know the cases are registered in what cities.
The court is requested to issue order to provide the petitioner details of the cases registered against him. LHC office had raised objections to the petition of Sheikh Rashid of lack of relevant documents.
