484 awarded gold medals and 26,992 degrees at IIU convocation
Islamabad: The International Islamic University, (IIU), marked the second session of its 12th convocation with a remarkable celebration of academic achievement.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri conferred degrees and 147 gold medals to outstanding female students, totaling 484 gold medals and 26,992 degrees awarded over the two-day event.
In his address, Pro-Chancellor praised the graduates, emphasizing the importance of depoliticisation in educational institutions for constructive outcomes. He lauded the leadership of President IIU, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, highlighting the university's positive direction under his guidance. The Pro-Chancellor expressed a commitment to strengthen ties with educational institutions worldwide and encouraged a focus on producing highly skilled individuals rooted in Islamic teachings.
Rector IIU, Dr. Samina Malik, commended the graduates for their hard work and dedication, emphasising the university's commitment to providing education across diverse disciplines. She acknowledged the efforts of President Alotaibi in implementing strategic reforms, leading to improved national and international rankings. Dr. Malik extended gratitude to Khadam-e-Harmeen Sharifeen and the government of Saudi Arabia for their invaluable support.
President IIU, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, outlined the 2022-26 Strategic Plan, highlighting initiatives to modernize teaching processes. He expressed gratitude to the Saudi government for supporting the university and detailed ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure, digitization, and decentralization. The completion of the Campus Management Project and the transformation of the quality department underscored the commitment to making IIUI a truly international institution.
Vice President Academics, Prof Dr. Abdul Raheman, extended thanks to IIU leadership, faculty, staff, and students for their untiring efforts in making the convocation a memorable success. The event showcased IIUI's dedication to academic excellence and its strides towards becoming a global educational hub.
