Says Nisar harassing opponents through ‘files’ rather than taking action against the corrupt; four PML-N stooges defending Nawaz
LAHORE: Throwing a challenge to the government to audit the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital (SKMCH) funds, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has said four PML-N stooges are shamelessly defending the corruption of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He added that a “Bhaand” (jester) of the Sharif cabinet from Sialkot also cast aspersions on the hospital in 2011 that caused a big loss to the institution.
Addressing a ceremony held on Wednesday at the SKMCH and later talking to the media just a day before leaving for London, Khan said that the government’s duty was not to blackmail the people in the name of files but to punish the corrupt.
He said the PTI will announce its future course of treatment from foreign hospitals, but a medical centre, which was working purely for the poor, was being targeted by their party members. He stated Panama Leaks had no connection with the Shaukat Khanum hospital and only ‘courtiers’ could defame the institution.
“They must be ashamed of themselves, their entire wealth has been invested outside Pakistan and when their corruption tales come to surface, they start slinging mud on the Shaukat Khanum hospital,” he said, adding that blackmailing tactics were being used by the ‘Maula Jatt’ of the PML-N government, but they failed as donations to the hospital increased by 20pc. He said the hospital admin was ready to face any audit of the donations.
