KARACHI: The Customs clearance of imports and exports remained suspended on Saturday, as the web-based Customs clearance system (WeBOC) came across some technical issues.
The WeBOC system had shutdown in early March due to problems in the Storage Area Network (SAN) suspending all operations. Sources said WeBOC incurred the similar difficulty on Saturday and there had been no clearance of import or export consignments through the system.
WeBOC Director Dr Fareed Iqbal Qureshi said the system was going through a maintenance phase due to which the clearance through it had slowed down a bit.
