50 more suspects held in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Police on Saturday arrested 50 more suspects during search operations in the district.
During the search operations, more than two dozens suspects were held who were staying in local hotels without having their identity cards. Earlier, the police had arrested more than 156 suspects during special raids who were being interrogated.
8 police officials booked

FAISALABAD: On the order of Additional Sessions Judge Misbah Khan, Chak Jhumra police on Saturday booked eight police officials for allegedly trespassing on a house and torturing women.
Khalid Mahmood of Chak 187/RB, Chak Jhumra, had filed a petition in which he alleged that eight police officials, including ASI Muhammad Imran, constables Shah Nawaz, Ali Raza, Maqsood Ahmad, driver Maqsood Ahmad and three others, trespassed on his house and tortured women besides taking away valuables from the house. The police have started investigation.
2 DEAD IN ACCIDENTS: Two people were killed in separate road accidents here on Saturday.
Aqeel Ahmad of Chak 86/GB, Dijkot, was crushed to death when he fell from a moving tractor-trolley and came under its wheels. In another incident, Ali Raza of Dijkot was crushed to death by a speeding bus near Dijkot Bus Stand.
CONCERNS OVER HAJ POLICY: Haj Operators Association Pakistan regional chairman Hafiz Shafiq Kashif has welcomed the approval of the Haj & Umra Act by the government.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, Shafiq expressed the HOAP concerns over the Haj policy 2016 and said that the draft of Haj & Umra policy 2016 was prepared without taking the Haj operators into confidence.
