Pak-Afghan flag meeting reviews border security arrangements
LANDIKOTAL: The monthly flag meeting was held between the civil and military officials of Pakistan and Afghanistan at Torkham border on Wednesday to review the border security arrangements.
Assistant Political Agent of Landikotal Rahimullah Khan Mahsud told The News by phone that a delegation of Afghan border and security officials, including Afghan National Army officials Colonel Nisar and Major Syed Amin along with other civilian officials came to Pakistani side of the Torkham border.
He said Pakistani civil and military officials attended the meeting held at Torkham administration offices.The meeting, which lasted for two and a half hours, discussed several bilateral issues such as security arrangements by both the countries and cross—border movement of people.
Rahimullah Khan Mahsud said that the Afghan officials sought the relaxation of visas for the Afghan citizens especially women, children and patients entering Pakistan. The official said both sides agreed and set April 30 as deadline after which no Afghan citizen would be allowed to travel Pakistan without valid travel documents.
